Spring Into a New Season of Programs at Launch Pad!

HANOVER, ON - March 23, 2022: April showers bring May…after school programs! Launch Pad Youth Skills and Technology Centre prepares to launch its new 2022 Spring After-School Program schedule!  Registrations for the spring programs are planned to go live March 28th, and if you sign up for the Launch Pad newsletter on mylaunchpad.ca you’ll get early access to registration.

Launch Pad’s Spring After School Programs will see the return of classic skill development programming such as welding, woodshop, and culinary, as well as some new opportunities for youth to explore including video game development, wood burning, and hair styling. The programs are scheduled to start Monday, April 25, 2022, and will run for eight weeks. In partnership with Graham’s Transportation Service, Launch Pad continues to offer free, round trip transportation for youth registered in the youth centre’s programs.

“We’re always excited when we get to provide new opportunities for youth to learn different skills and discover their passion,” said  Emily Morrison, Executive Director at Launch Pad. “Our automotive program, which was just added this winter, proved to be one of our most popular programs.”

Launch Pad continues its latest Drop-In initiative with Thursdays being dedicated for Youth aged 15-18 from 3:30pm-8pm. This provides older teens an opportunity to better prepare for post-secondary while connecting with each other in a safe space. The regular Drop-In program for all youth 12-18 continues to run Monday to Wednesday from 3:30pm-8pm. Follow Launch Pad on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

Launch Pad’s spring programs follow the success of its Winter Programming after a slight delay due to COVID-19 restrictions. The youth centre saw 70 youth across 23 programs between Winter and March Break Programming.

Launch Pad continues to monitor the COVID-19 situations and follows the appropriate precautionary guidelines being recommended by various Canadian health authorities, including the Grey Bruce Public Health, Ontario Health, and the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Launch Pad is an innovative youth centre located in Hanover that empowers Grey Bruce youth. We provide fun and inclusive skill building opportunities to promote career discovery. By working with our community, we lead a team of experienced volunteers to build a variety of skill sets to help our youth succeed.
