Neptune Scoops landing at Launch Pad this summer
HANOVER, ON - January 30, 2023: Launch Pad Youth Activity and Technology Center’s social enterprise, Neptune Scoops, returns this summer. The Hanover-based youth centre is currently hiring the next wave of youth entrepreneurs to lead and champion the seasonal ice cream business.
“We’re excited to provide an opportunity for local youth to learn what it takes to run a business, while having a fun summer job selling ice cream,” said Nicholas Manglal-lan, Executive Director of Launch Pad. “Neptune Scoops empowers youth, creates a local community hang-out, and supports Launch Pad. It’s a win-win-win!”
With Neptune Scoops, Launch Pad creates jobs for youth aged 15-18 while also teaching entrepreneurial skills and giving them an opportunity to run their own business. Interested youth can apply on the mylaunchpad.ca website, or drop off their resumes in person at Launch Pad.
Neptune Scoops was first invented in winter of 2021 to provide an opportunity for youth to come together and develop the skills necessary in creating and running a business while also creating more job opportunities for local youth.
Launch Pad is an innovative youth centre located in Hanover that empowers Grey Bruce youth. We provide fun and inclusive skill building opportunities to promote career discovery. By working with our community, we lead a team of experienced volunteers to build a variety of skill sets to help our youth succeed.
